They waived offensive lineman Landon Turner with a ‘non-football illness’ and signed offensive lineman Kofi Amichia to replace Turner on the 90-man roster.According to Joe Person of The Athletic Taylor Moton Jersey , Turner was waived because he required an appendectomy. He is expected to make a full recovery.Amichia was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft and spent the entire 2017 season on the practice squad. He spent parts of the 2018 season on both the Packers’ and Baltimore Ravens’ practice squads before being waived a few weeks ago.In the long run this move doesn’t really move the needle much for the Panthers as they just needed to have another able-bodied player to run drills during Offseason Team Activities tomorrow and next week. There’s always a chance that Amichia could impress enough to get a closer look during training camp, but this is most likely just a ‘we need to have 90 guys out here for drills’ move that won’t amount to much in a few months. The Panthers currently have Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen on the roster as backup options to Cam Newton and they appear open to adding a player to that quarterback group in the draft.They haven’t been meeting with the players projected to go early in the first round, but have spent time with players like Will Grier Wes Horton Color Rush Jersey , Jarrett Stidham and Clayton Thorson. That may have drawn more notice this year because Newton is coming off of shoulder surgery, but head coach Ron Rivera said there’s been no difference than in past years and General Manager Marty Hurney agreed with that assessment.“I agree with Ron.
